The Initiative for a Competitive Inner City (ICIC) and Fortune Magazine announced that ColorFX, Inc. The rankings for each company were announced at the Inner City 100 Awards on Wednesday, May 9, 2012 in Boston, MA. Highlights of the 2012 Inner City 100 include:

  • Employ 7,965 workers and have created 4,635 new jobs in the last five years.
  • 25% are women-owned. Nationally, only 10% of companies with over $1 million in annual revenues are women-owned.
  • Companies generated $15.3 million in revenues on average and $1.5 billion in the aggregate.
  • 36% are minority-owned. Nationally, only 21% of all companies are headed by minorities.
  • 40% of their workers are inner city residents.

ColorFX Wins 100 Fastest-Growing Urban Businesses in America

Color Fx Inc, is proud to announce that it has earned a place among the 100 fastest growing inner city firms in the United States. This year’s Inner City 100 was chosen from over a five thousand nominees and we are very excited to be among the leaders in this distinguished group.

We arrived in Boston on May 8 and immediately checked into our hotel in. On that same day we were assigned shuttles that took us to the Exclusive Inner City 100 Winners Reception. There we were to meet and mingle with the 2012 Inner City 100 Winners. After the event was over we returned to our hotel and some participants also took the chance to explore Faneuil Hall Marketplace.

On May 9, our day began at 6.30am where we boarded our shuttle and headed to Williams Room, Spangles Hall, located at the Harvard Business School, where had our registration and were offered a beautiful Breakfast.

We were then given our group assignment for the morning case studies and also our seating assignment for the awards program which was being help in the evening. We then were taken to the Baker Library steps, at the Harvard Business School for our group photo. At noon, we attended the INNOVATION LUNCHEON, where Mr. Michael E. Porter, who is a professor at the Harvard Business School and also the Founder and Chairman of ICIC, was the Keynote Speaker. Other speakers were Mrs. Kay Leonard (C.E.O. of ICIC), Jerry Sargent (Citizens Bank President), Mr. Joseph G. Doody (president of Staples North America and Chairman of Staples China), Mr. S. Shariq Yosufzai (vice president of Chevron Corporation), Steve Pagliuca (managing partner and an owner of the Boston Celtics basketball franchise).

Our Entire day was filled with back to back seminars and workshops where we got to meet so many different valuable individuals.
Amongst them was Teresa Amabile (Professor of Business Administration, Harvard Business School). Beth Goldstein (Director, $50k New venture Competition Institute For Technology Entrepreneurship and Commercialization Boston University), Francesca Gino (Accociate Professor of Business Administration, Harvard Business School), Noam Wasserman (Accociate Professor of Business Administration, Harvard Business School), Patti Greene (Paul T. Babson Chair in Entrepreneurship, Babson College), Troy Kelley (Vice President and Managing director, R/GA), Tameka Moss (Director of Talent, Next Street).

That evening, the moment we had all been waiting for finally arrived, the Inner City 100 Awards Presentation, which took place at the Grand Ballroom, at Sheraton Hotel in Boston. For the First time the rankings of all the winners were revealed and the winners were recognized for their accomplishments.

This has been a life changing event for us and we feel so honored and humbled to have been a part of it. All the years of hard work finally paid off, and we are all so excited for the future.
