Think about it for a second, postcards are delivered to the potential customer\u2019s mailbox. They already expect to receive their regular mail and different forms of advertisement in their mailbox.\u00a0 If there\u2019s a postcard in the mailbox they are probably not going to be surprised at all.\u00a0 However, door hangers are completely the opposite.\u00a0 When someone is walking into their house they are doing just that, walking.\u00a0 They are not expecting to see an advertisement hung from their door and we are trying to interrupt what they are doing and make them pay attention to our ads.\u00a0 They might pick up the door hanger and look at it, not look at it but bring into their house, or not look at it and throw it away.\u00a0 This is why the design of the door hanger plays a crucial role in an effective door hanger campaign.<!--more--><br>\nYour first priority is to get your general message out clearly and fast. For example, if you\u2019re a pizza company and you want to catch someone\u2019s attention you may want to have a big header that reads, \u201cBest Pizza in Town\u201d.\u00a0 A headline like this does one of two things, it tells the person that you\u2019re selling pizza and it\u2019s the best in town which delivers the value point to the customer.\u00a0 Once you get the customer reading you can sell the whole menu to them if you like.\u00a0 The next big thing in design is color. You want your <a href=\"http:\/\/www.colorfxweb.com\/products\/door-hangers.aspx\">door hanger<\/a> to stand out so that the person can see it from far away while they are approaching the door.\u00a0 Make sure you remember the main point is to deliver your headline, so don\u2019t make the color so distracting that it takes away from the headline completely. Following the headline you should have an effective sub headline.
