Case Study No. 2: Limits in Paper Availability
The Legend: The available papers are just too limited.
From the Beginning:
Its a misconception that only a few basic stocks are available for digital printing. With offset printing, you have a much broader choice.
This is not really the case. In fact the origins of this myth can trace their routes back to photocopying technology, which in its earliest days was famously limited in the range of stocks it could accommodate. As late as 1999, most of the available papers for digital printing were uncoated white stocks in a narrow range of weights.
Debunking the Myth:
Recent advancements in digital printing have contributed to a dramatic increase in the range of supported media. ColorFX’s digital presses, for example, set new standards for printing on a wider range of stocks including coated and uncoated substrates from the very light to the very heavy uncoated and coated stocks.
Secondly, paper manufacturers have diligently developed new substrates for digital printing allowing ColorFX to provide its customer base with a wide variety of coated, uncoated, parchment, and off-white graphic stocks in varying weights. We even cover ID Cards, labels, transparencies, photos, multi-part forms and much much more.
Ask for a personal consultation with us so we can steer you toward papers that run reliably in our presses and we can provide samples so you can select the best material for your variable printing needs.
